May 29 Back from Canada!!!
TOWN!I love it!
May 20 Fortune TellingThere is a Vietnamese girl in my DC program, who claims that she knows how to do fortune-telling. She spent two months learning it from an old lady in her hometown, who makes fortune telling through her whole life for free. We six people just tried it out of curiosity. Everyone, except me commented that she was amazing! They felt that what she said matched exactly what they were thinking of.
I am the only person out of 6 on that day, who took what she said about me as joking. However, right now I realize maybe what she said is partly true. There are different types of relationship existing in the world. Between things, between people, between things and people. While I am so good at dealing with some, I suck when handling others. The same thing happened for the second time, although under different background, involving different people, same person playing opposite roles but with amazingly simialr nature, how come???

May 06 28th Anniversary Dinner of my current internship organizationOn May 3rd,my current internship organization Refugees International, a Washington DC-based Humanitarian Advocacy non-governmental organization had a 28th anniversary dinner in Embassy of Italy. I felt honored to be part of it. The dinner raised a large amount of money thanks to the generous contribution from informed individuals , corporations and foundations.President Bill Clinton and Senator Hillary Clinton were invited too, but as you can expect, they couldn`t make it to show up but they wrote to our organization a personalized letter saying they felt more than happy to be Honorable Co-chairs for Refugees International. I contributed to the preparation work. Although the work itself was very administration-type intensive, I cannot deny that for a big event like this, every single detail is of great value to the overall success! If interested, you can go to www.refugeesinternational.org to have a closer look at this small but powerful organization. I believe most of you guys, same as me, seldom pay attention to the news related to refugess before. What they are doing is really gratifying and has profound influence!
