    Back from Canada!!!

           我翘了一天班,充分利用了因为MEMORIAL DAY所以连起来的四天周末,又跑了一趟加拿大,这次去的是多伦多,渥太华,蒙特利尔和魁北克.
          照片和游记稍后补上,我扔下一堆PAPER要赶现在不敢没完没了地在这里絮叨.
          一句话评论:
    尼亚加拉大瀑布: 真要看还是要来加拿大这侧欣赏,美国那头水也太少了吧?!
    多伦多:等红灯的时候,我数了15个过街的行人,14个亚洲人,一个黑人,这城市亚洲人和亚洲餐馆不要太多呀!
    渥太华:国会建筑很漂亮的,和维多利亚还蛮像的.
    蒙特利尔:遍地是教堂.
    魁北克:度假度蜜月的绝佳选择,完全不同的语言,完全不同的建筑风格,好吃的法餐,养眼的WAITER,很灵很灵的小TOWN!I love it!
          特别特别特别感谢XY,这次真是辛苦你啦,身兼摄影师,导游,司机,保姆数职,还要带着三个女生玩,你太伟大了,向你致敬!朋友还是老的好呀!
          好了,现在赶PAPER去了!

    Fortune Telling

    There is a Vietnamese girl in my DC program, who claims that she knows how to do fortune-telling. She spent two months learning it from an old lady in her hometown, who makes fortune telling through her whole life for free.

    We six people just tried it out of curiosity.

    Everyone, except me commented that she was amazing! They felt that what she said matched exactly what they were thinking of.

    • She uses cards asking you to shuffle them as instructed without asking you any personal questions;
    • She tells you stories based what she can read from the card settings;
    • She can explain to you what different numbers or styles or combinations or positions of certain cards mean;
    • She cannot tell you everything that you want to know but she may unveil something that you hide deeply into the recesses of your heart unwilling to share;
    • She doesn’t only talk about good things, like what those kites do, she may tell your weakness in a very straightforward way, it’s up to you whether you admit it or not;
    • She tells different people about different things, some only mention the relationship with family, some only refer to your certain concern for future career, others may talk about your potential trouble with something;
    • She suggests that when you feel some part of your life is undergoing significant changes or even just delicate changes that you are unsure of, you should ask her to do it again for you to help you clarify your true feelings;
    • She said she didn’t really believe in this kind of stuff before. But after she tested on her boyfriend she was totally carried away by its magic! When they were in such a honey period, she was so mad because she could read from the cards that he was still thinking of his ex-girlfriend. He didn’t deny and they broke up soon later.(Well, this sounds a shining proof!)

    I am the only person out of 6 on that day, who took what she said about me as joking.

    However, right now I realize maybe what she said is partly true.

    There are different types of relationship existing in the world. Between things, between people, between things and people. While I am so good at dealing with some, I suck when handling others.

    The same thing happened for the second time, although under different background, involving different people, same person playing opposite roles but with amazingly simialr nature, how come???

    妈妈母亲节快乐!!!

    最最最亲爱的妈妈:
      母亲节快乐!!!我今天下午亲手做了巧克力蛋糕送给你,看到照片了吗?用巧克力粉,糖浆,鸡蛋,黄油,糖衣花生,玉米油等等放在烤箱里面做出来的!上面用酸奶写的"MOM, I LOVE YOU", 你喜欢的吧?我知道你一定看了特激动,特得意,然后和爸爸炫耀,然后估计爸爸就要打电话找我上诉了..爸爸不要吃醋啦,家里有烤箱吧,别急我回去也给你做一个!
      我一直是个特别幸运的孩子,茫茫人海中有那么多的人比我聪明,比我努力,我却一直能顺利前行,很少有迷失方向的苦恼.我知道幸运都是你们带给我的.谢谢.
      原谅我的偶尔任性,常发牢骚,东游西走,总不在家陪你们,一忙起来就忘了挂电话报平安,没好好照顾自己时常让你们担心,其实宝贝女儿心里一直惦记着你们的.很爱很爱你们!!!!!
      隔着太平洋还有12个小时的时差,我和我的室友们先代表你们把巧克力蛋糕给瓜分了,呵呵,不好意思.第一次尝试,她们赞不绝口,初试成功!!我是烹饪天才!YEAH!
      妈妈节日快乐!
                                                小博

    祝天下所有的母亲节日快乐,如果你从来没有告诉过你的妈妈你爱她,今天告诉她.

    28th Anniversary Dinner of my current internship organization

         On May 3rd,my current internship organization Refugees International, a Washington DC-based Humanitarian Advocacy non-governmental organization had a 28th anniversary dinner in Embassy of Italy. I felt honored to be part of it. The dinner raised a large amount of money thanks to the generous contribution from informed individuals , corporations and foundations.President Bill Clinton and Senator Hillary Clinton were invited too, but as you can expect, they couldn`t make it to show up but they wrote to our organization a personalized letter saying they felt more than happy to be Honorable Co-chairs for Refugees International. I contributed to the preparation work. Although the work itself was very administration-type intensive, I cannot deny that for a big event like this, every single detail is of great value to the overall success! If interested, you can go to www.refugeesinternational.org to have a closer look at this small but powerful organization. I believe most of you guys, same as me, seldom pay attention to the news related to refugess before. What they are doing is really gratifying and has profound influence!
